 "Sincerity, Diligence, Thrift, and Prudence"is the motto from Yu-Ziang Hsu, the founder of the Oriental Institute of Technology. Throughout his life, Mr. Hsu had been an honest and diligent person who dealt with everything and everyday life in simple and prudent attitude. At the beginning of founding the school, Mr. Hsu wrote “Sincerity, Diligence, Thrift, and Prudence” as the motto for both teachers and pupils; hoping that we could cultivate professionals in techniques and virtues as a way we do our share for the country. |

 New Century, New Economy, New Concept
Established in 1969, Oriental Institute of Technology is now comprised of twelve departments covering areas of engineering, management and nursing. ?Here our students have easy access to a cornucopia of resources and opportunities for multidisciplinary professional training. ?Being an employer or employed, OIT graduates will be able to keep up with the times and live up to the School’s motto “Sincerity, Diligence, Thrift, and Prudence” and the entrepreneurial spirit of Mr. Y. Z. Hsu, Founder of the Far Eastern Group. ?They will be quickly responsive, adaptable and accommodating to the changing world and will never stop learning.
I firmly believe that the 21st century will be an era of “CHA-CHA-CHA—Chance, Changes and Challenges” and would expect that Oriental Institute of Technology will keep on making great strides on its way to a first-rate institution of learning, and that all of our students and alumni will be following the trend of new economy and create their own bright future with all the knowledge they acquired.

Message from the President
 Owing to the radical changes in the social environment, establishing and promoting the educational policy have become a matter of public concern. A great transformation for technological schools is the trend of colleges becoming technological institutes and technological institutes becoming universities. Here at Oriental Institute of Technology, we have made it our aim to becoming a university of technology as well. We provide a wide range of prospective and practicing curriculum, enrich and expand our collaborative partnership throughout the academic, governmental, and industrial communities. At OIT, students are encouraged to “Be Yourself” to pursue intellectual and self-fulfillment.
